The puppies are leaving today and tomorrow and it is a bitter sweet day. I love seeing the puppies leave to their new homes and know that they will be loved but it is always sad to say goodbye. These have been two sweet, sweet puppies that have been a lot of fun!

This litter of puppies is showing the same level of intelligence that is usual for Orcrist's litters. Today, I found both puppies wandering the living room since they had figured out how to open their living room kennel gate! From now on, I will have to also twist tie the door closed. Ha, ha!

LaVerne is a real sweetheart! She loves her sister dearly and they play together so well. She figured out how to get out of her playpen/kennel in the living room, so be ready for a real smart cookie!

Shirley has such a cute personality! She is very inquisitive and loves to explore her surroundings. She has begun to grow very quickly. I'm curios to see how close she will get to her sister's size before they leave.

I have completed the personality test but am unable to post due to computer issues. Their were two significant differences between LaVerne and Shirley. 1) LaVerne was not sensitive to being pinched between the toes (10 seconds with no response). This is not surprising since we do something similar to this to condition the puppies. Shirley was more typical with a response at 3 seconds (gentle pull back). 2) LaVerne did not even look at the object that I tossed for retrieving while Shirley tried to get it to retrieve is but was unable to pick it up. After 3 attempts, she returned. Again, neither response is atypical as this behavior normally emerges around 7 to 8 weeks so this is difficult for them to perform at this age. On the other aspects of the test--both came to me, were like all my other puppies in the submissive positions (on back, hanging, petted by side) and total enjoyed all 3 positions. Neither puppy went to the sounds or reacted to the sudden movement. Overall, their tests were very consistent with what I have experienced in the past--which is a really good sign since Orcrist's puppies have been very intelligent and trainable.
LaVerne

LaVerne is inquisitive and loves playing with Shirley. They love each other and enjoy tumbling around together. LaVerne has a slight coloration that normally leads to beautiful highlights (see the picture of Asteroid on the home page for what I anticipate).

Shirley loves to romp with LaVerne and is full of energy and spunk. She has a blocky frame, even though she is small right now. She has a very cute face, is extremely loving and is a happy puppy.

Orcrist's puppies continue to grow. They love to play with each other and miss each other when apart. You can hear LaVerne looking for Shirley in her video. It's so sweet!

LaVerne is so playful and full of energy! She is still learning to walk on slick surfaces, but that doesn't stop her from having fun!

The puppies have gotten a lot more active this week. They play fight, explore and are eating more solid food. They still sleep a lot, but they are now showing their personalities. Both are extremely cute!

Laverne is playful and loving. She enjoys being held. She is very relaxed and has a sweet personality.

Shirley is very loving and trusting. We have spent a lot of time with her and she soaks it up. She likes to play and explore. And yes, she really is as cute as these pictures make her out to be.

Orcrist's puppies are trying to walk. It's really adorable seeing them wobble around. Their eyes have also opened and they are beginning to play with each other.
2 Weeks 5 Days
Sadly, Orcrist laid on one of her puppies so there are only 2 females now. Erin G. has moved to either Tizona or Rhiannon, if they are bred.
The puppies are continuing to grow and mature well. They are done with neurological stimulation and will now begin environment conditioning. Basically, this is just a series of activities to help get them ready for their new homes. Orcrist continues to be a wonderful mother. She loves her puppies and it shows. The puppies are really cute too!
1 Week 5 Days
The puppies continue to grow well and are crawling around now. Their eyes are beginning to peak open. They are really cute already and are doing well with their neurological stimulation. They look a lot like their mother and are going to be really beautiful.
1 Week 1 Day
The 3 girls are all doing fantastic. They have had their dew claws removed. They like to crawl around (belly crawl). Orcrist is her regular, super mom and loves caring for her puppies. Neurological stimulation is going well. So far, they seem to be very active during that time. I have posted pictures of the faces of each puppy, along with group photos. It was the cutest thing to see the one puppy hugging her sister!
Week 1
Day 3
The puppies are already moving around really well and will find their mother when she moves. They continue to nurse well and of course, Orcrist is being her usual fantastic mother. She absolutely loves being a mother! We will begin the neurological training later today. That is always fun because I will normally get a sense of their personality and intelligence.
Day 1
Orcrist had her puppies earlier than expected and there are only 3 girls, so all of her puppies are already spoken for. Puppies have all nursed and are small and pink (and cute).
