7 Weeks 3 Days
This is my last entry for this litter. They have been the best (or at least tied) litter at crate training. I did not have even a single accident (#2) and most don't even go #1 at night. They are in their crates for 8 hours now and they are the best (not tied) at going in at night. Each night, I take a fresh towel and put it in their crate and 2 puppies just march right in until they are all full. All of the puppies are love buckets and it was fantastic to be able to share in their early lives. Starting next Monday, they will be going to their new homes. Happy puppies!

6 Weeks 4 Days
All the puppies have new homes. It was great seeing all those who came. I love watching the decision making as people choose between the puppies. This group was one of the most uniform that I have had so the decisions were very difficult. This may be my last pictures--I will try to get one more group in but I am not sure if I will be able to.
Riley
Riley is very active but loves to be held. She will play hard and then rest and cuddle.
Agent Sandusky
Agent is my most active male. He loves to playfight. He has a beautiful, thick, wavy coat.
Ben Gates
Ben is active and curious. He is intelligent and loves to explore.
Ian Howe
Ian is big and blocky. He has a beautiful coat.
Mr. President
Mr. President is our resident cuddler. He loves spending time with people.
Shaw
Shaw is really gorgeous. He is big and blocky and should grow into a beautiful dog.
5 Weeks 7 Days
I arrived back from my daughter's wedding today and was able to get pictures before the sun set. The puppies are continuing to grow into their cutest stage. For several of these puppies, I can tell that they are going to get the longer, wavy fur. These puppy's pictures will normally lag behind in quality because it takes time to grow into that coat. Ben, Agent Sandusky, and Mr. President all look much better this week and they will get even cuter next week.
The weight gains are from nine days, so it is more than usual and all made very healthy gains. They got their first round of Fenbendozole (older puppy dewormer) today as well. It is a very busy time for them!

Here are the results for the 6 week personality test. As always, the puppies are very young for this test but did very well.
The test is designed for all dog breeds so interpreting the results needs to be done with an eye towards Golden Retriever personality traits. That means that spending time with your puppy should result in a compliant, well rounded puppy who is easily trained and loves people.

Riley
Adopted by Kent & Jodi F.
Riley is very social and loves being with people. She is eager to walk stairs and does a good job going down them but still needs help going up. She follows well on the leash. Her personality test places her as a very well adjusted, social puppy with a flexible temperament.
Agent Sandusky
Adopted by Lori & Mark J.
Agent Sandusky follows well and goes up and down stairs well. He explores and will do so on his own--he is confident and assured away from his fellow puppies. Sandusky's temperament is flexible and easily adjusted. He looks like he will have the longer, wavy fur.
Ben Gates
Adopted by Kyle & Mary G.
Ben Gates goes up and down stairs well and walks well on the leash as well. He is very social and loves to play fight. His overall personality is flexible with a few outlying results. He looks like he will have the longer, wavy fur and he is just now starting to grow into it. Ben is very friendly and loves to be with people.
Ian Howe
Adopted by Pat & Joe R.
Ian Howe responded well to prompts and did well going up and down stairs. He walks well on the leash. His personality test scored strongly social and friendly. He will be easily trained.
Mr. President
Adopted by Holly & Jack K.
Mr. President follows well on the leash, goes up stairs well but is still working at going down stairs too. He responds well to calls and likes to explore. He is social and very friendly. He is getting wavy fur.
Shaw
Adopted by Cole A.
Shaw is very good on the leash following right at the trainers side and goes up and down stairs well. He maintains eye contact and loves people. He has a stronger personality but will be easily trained with attention. He is a beautiful, blocky, puppy.
5 Weeks 3 Days
This week's pictures are courtesy of my sister-in-law. She provided me with 2 of each. The puppies are being trained to follow on a leash, walk stairs, play with toys, and are beginning outside potty training. They are also getting used to crates now and will begin crate training at 6 weeks.
Riley Poole
Riley learned very quickly to respond to the trainer's voice. She went down stairs very easily but is still working on getting up them easily.
Agent Sandusky
Agent Sandusky went down the stairs very well and preferred to spend time with the trainer to playing with the others. He liked to chew on the play toys.
Ben Gates
Ben liked following the trainer on a leash. He is active and went up and down stairs easily.
Ian Howe
Ian was very explorative during his outside training. He went up stairs well but does not go down them yet. He is still learning to walk on the leash.
Mr. President
Mr. President is very good at following on the leash. He goes up stairs well but not down yet. He liked to explore on his own.
Shaw
Shaw was very good at following on the leash. He does not go up or down stairs yet.
4 Weeks 5 Days
The puppies are continuing to grow at a really quick rate. They gained between 5 oz and 14 oz (Ben's weight last time was an error--I think it should have been 4 lb 10 oz). The biggest change in the past three days is their friendliness and activity. They continue to get more and more friendly. Now, whenever I am with them, they will crowd around and wait to be petted or played with. They are also much more active and love to explore. They are beginning to enter their cutest time. The next 5-7 weeks are always incredible. The puppies are fairly uniform in color--they are all very light. Enjoy the pictures!
Riley: 4 lb 10 oz (+0 lb 5 oz)
Agent Sandusky 5 lb 2 oz (+ 0 lb 10 oz) Ben Gates 5 lb 7 oz (+1 lb 6 oz or 13 oz) |
Ian Howe 6 lb 3 oz (+ 0 lb 14 oz)
Mr. President 5 lb 1 oz (+0 lb 8 oz) Shaw 5 lb 11 oz (+ 0 lb 9 oz) |
Riley
Riley loves to be held and petted. She still explores and likes to play fight. While she did not gain as much weight the past three days, she has become much cuter as she grows into her proper proportions.
Agent Sandusky
Agent Sandusky is one of our smaller boys (though they are catching up now that they are eating mostly solid foods). He is very active and loves to run around and play. As with all of the puppies, he likes to be held and petted.
Ben Gates
Ben continues to explore. He is friendly and likes to be petted. He is also cute.
Ian Howe
Ian is our biggest puppy and at least right now, our most beautiful. He is friendly and laid back in personality. He likes to sit on our lap.
Mr. President
Mr. President is our other small boy. He is very cute and inquisitive. Like the others, he likes to be petted.
Shaw
Shaw is our second largest puppy (right now). Like Ian, he is also very relaxed and loves to sit on us. He has nice proportions and a nice wavy coat.
4 Weeks 2 Days
It has only been 3 days since I last posted but these puppies look much different! They have grown significantly and are very plump. It looks like at least one of the boys is going to have longer fur. I can't tell for the rest yet. I will continue to learn more about their personalities in the next few weeks. These will change as they grow and get more confident and experienced.

Riley
Riley is a sweet girl who loves to explore (with Ben). She loves to play fight with Shaw. She has a cute face and beautiful coat.
Agent Sandusky
Agent is usually very active and likes to playfight. He likes to run around and loves to play with us.
Ben Gates
Ben is independent and an explorer. He wants to know all about his environment. He play fights with Riley and also explores with her.
Ian Howe
Ian is our biggest puppy. He is also one of the puppies that loves to be with people every chance he gets (even when I am working) He has a laid back personality at this point.
Mr. President
Mr. President is active and likes to climb on us. He is friendly, choosing to spend time with us over play fighting with his brothers and sister.
Shaw
Shaw is our second biggest puppy. He is also very friendly and relaxed. He likes to chew on our feet and play with them.
3 Weeks 5 Days
The puppies got their name tags today so I will be able to tell you more about their personalities in the upcoming posts. For now, I can tell you that there are a couple explorers, a couple that love to be with people, and 2 that are larger than the others. They are all very sweet and enjoyed their bath. Their activity level is really high now--they love to explore and learn about their environment. I have 5 pictures of each of them. It is a good idea to try not to fall in love with a puppy from the first set because they will change a lot in the next several weeks. Some of the puppies are also wonderfully photogenic. I will be including their weights later today.

3 Weeks 1 Day
It has been another exciting week for the puppies. They are eating solid food now--which is right on schedule. That means that they get very dirty since their favorite place to fall asleep is curled up into their food bowl. So...they also got their first bath today. It is amazing how they look after a bath. They are all moving around fully now. Neurological stimulation is done so now I get to play with them for a week before I start training them in other ways. This week's pictures are of all six puppies--one picture per puppy. Also, I have names for the puppies. They are: Ben (Gates); Ian (Howe); Shaw; Agent Sandusky; Mr. President; and the girl is named Riley (Poole). They will get their name tags later this week--when they are big enough.
2 Week 2 Days
We are just about done with the neurological stimulation (2 more days) and it is a good thing--the puppies are now walking off of their cold mat. They are now fully movable. They are walking around their area and their eyes are fully open. They still spend most of their day sleeping--which is a good thing--it means they are content. I had a hard time getting clear pictures so I borrowed one picture from the end of last week. Hope you enjoy.
1 Week 5 Days
The puppies are continuing to grow well. Their eyes opened yesterday and they now crawl all around. They are still a very active group. At this point, there are 3 bigger puppies and 3 smaller ones. That will change once they start eating solid foods. For now, I make sure that the little ones get lots of opportunity to eat first before the big ones can move them. They have had their first round of dewormer and will continue to get neurological stimulation until day 18. I finally get to sleep more--I wake up every 3 hours at night to make sure that all is well. The puppies are a bit damp in the pictures because I gave Daisy a bath and she came back and nursed before my pictures. Hope you enjoy!
1 Week 1 Day
The puppies are amazing! These might be the most active puppies I have had (for this age). They are motoring around their little room and getting into mischief all day long. They have filled out nicely and several seem to have the big blocky heads. Neurological stimulation begun several days ago. I normally get to do the stimulation with two puppies at a time when they are little, but these guys make it hard by being active. I like active puppies because they have more distinct personalities earlier. By the way, I intend to post on Monday and Friday. There will be at least 1 week that I will miss (I will be at my daughter's wedding and the puppies will be under my niece's care). Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Week 1
Day 4
The puppies have had their dewclaws removed. This group is very active and it was very difficult to get good clear pictures because they were moving the entire time. That is a good sign. Hopefully, all will go well from here on out.
This has been a rough couple of days. We lost three girl puppies. We saw Daisy step on one and lay on another. We have been getting up every 1/2 hour to check on her during the night, but unfortunately, we were not able to stop these tragedies. We are so sorry. We work hard to bring excellent puppies to all of our families and it breaks our hearts when we can't.
Day 1
Daisy has 5 boys and 3 girls. They are all eating well and they and mommy are doing well. They are very evenly sized and are nice and pink. That will change to black sometime between days 3 and 5. They are a very content group--I rarely hear them asking for the mother. She has lots of milk so that helps them. Here are the first pictures.
Day 1 pictures of the puppies
It is a little after 9:00 and she now has 9 puppies. I think she is done but I am not positive yet. Right now, we have 5 boys and 4 girls. Tomorrow (Tuesday) night I will make calls to those on the call list. I will also post pictures tomorrow since I am not sure if she is done yet.
The puppies are being born! Starting around 1:00 this afternoon, Daisy began to have her puppies. As of just before 7:00 she is at 7 puppies. I can't tell if she is done or if she will have more. She is definitely still big enough to have more. Her puppies are doing really well. They are good sized puppies and have already been eating.
I will try to post once more before the night is out--maybe with a picture of her and the puppies. I will plan on calling those on the call reserve list (for puppies 7-11 if she has that many) as soon as she is done having puppies and I can tell how many boys and girls she has.
