Kira's Updates & Pictures
6 Weeks 6 Days
The puppies will all have their new homes this weekend. They have recovered from last weekend and most have regained their weight. All are active and healthy and are showing their personalities. You will see from the videos that they love us and either make a mad dash for me or for my son, who has to help for me to be able to get any video at all. This will be my last post before the puppies go to their new homes. Enjoy the videos!

5 Weeks 7 Days
It was an extremely rough weekend here. As you will have learned from my text, my wife is recovering from Covid which means I had it too. Both our cases were very mild. Then, our puppies got sick and the treatment caused them to vomit. This meant I spend the entire night up caring for them only to end up losing Cheetah. He was so sweet and it was so hard to watch him get weaker and weaker because he couldn't keep food down. The vet gave us a means to keep him hydrated but he really needed nutrition and the medicine kept him sick.
To the good news, the rest of the puppies are doing great and have regained their vigor. They are active, playful and super loving. I hope you love the videos--they all came running as soon as we put them down. For most, this was the slowest that they came. You will hear the laughter in my voice a couple of times because we could not keep the puppies from dashing right to me.

5 Weeks 5 Days
The puppies continue to mature and are coming into their personalities. As a group, they are very relaxed and are easy to work with. They like to play and make sweet sounds when they are sleeping. They all want to be as near to me as they can be. The results of the personality tests are on the links below. Videos were done in two batches so you will see some sun differences. As a result, some of the puppies were caught right at nap time and are super relaxed.
Here are extra comments on the personality test.
1) Coming--all puppies were very good at this. Leopard is quickest to come (no prompting needed).
2) Following--all equally good.
3) Restraint--beyond good. They are totally relaxed in this position.
4) Social Dominance--this is similar to our conditioning practice and elicits no response as a result.
5) Elevation Dominance--my puppies always just hang and look me in the eyes, very contented.
6) Fetching--Cheetah and Jaguar did the best. None fetched yet but both tried to pick up the paper and return with it.
7) Touch Sensitivity--many show no response because it is similar to conditioning.
8) Sound Sensitivity--many show little response because we raise them with noise. However, they do respond to me making the noise 20 feet away.
9) Sight Sensitivity--there was little difference in response for these puppies.
10) Stability--none of this group showed significant response. If they cringed at all I marked them down.
11) Structure--I know of no structural issues.
Overall, these were very consistent results which should lead to good trainnig capability with all of these puppies.

Girl Puppies
Alley
Alley is active and likes to explore. However, she wants to be near to us. She was slower to try to please on fetching and may still be too young for the personality test to show her true personality.
Lynx
Lynx worked very hard at retrieving and obviously wanted to please me. She has beautiful colored markings. She is very quick to come to me but still likes exploring.
Puma
Puma continues to explore and wants to learn. She is the most independent female at this point. She is loving and wants attention.
Tabby
Tabby is relaxed and contented. She is eager to please but may be more independent. That trait will develop more clearly in the next several days--so this is only a preliminary guess without clear patterns yet.
Boy Puppies
Bengal
Bengal is a relaxed lap dog. He loves to be held and will sleep in my lap. He is intelligent and wants to please. He worked really hard to retrieve the crumpled paper.
Cheetah
Cheetah is very smart and wants to please. He is friendly and loving. However, he has not been feeling well so we are giving him a lot of attention. Occasionally, puppies don't thrive after nursing is done and that is what we are working on with Cheetah.
Jaguar
Jaguar likes to explore but still loves being with me best. He is very social and wants to please.
Leopard
Leopard likes to explore but still wants to be close to me. I think he will be more independent, though he is very loving and seeks my attention and love. He is quick to follow or come.
Lion
Lion continues to be one of the more relaxed puppies. He is very friendly and loves to stay by my side. He is very contented.
Tiger
Tiger is super friendly. He loves to sit on my lap and show me affection.
4 Weeks 7 Days
All of these puppies loved their first full bath. They melted in my hands in the warm water and were totally relaxed. Part of that is because of conditioning--they are very used to their fur being ruffled both directions. They are fully weaned now so they grew a little slower, mostly because they are getting used to a diet of dog food only. Finally, I took pictures by myself this time which led to some very interesting sessions. They all want to come to me but some required 6 rounds to get the 3 pictures because they came to me so quickly (see comments to know which did that). They continue to get cuter and cuter. Also, I will be sending a letter to confirm the times for picking puppies later today (Sunday). Several have already booked times and I will include those in the letter.

The puppies personalities are just beginning to emerge. They play fight and love to be held. All of them are doing well at conditioning and that really makes them love being with us. They are close to being weaned--Kira's decision. As a result, they have a much bigger area to play in and occasionally they get to explore everywhere. They are such a treat and a super group of puppies! As always, the photos are taken on my phone so they are a bit inconsistent but do give a general idea of the looks of each puppy.

These puppies have lots of personality for this age. They play fight already, which is something I normally see after 5 weeks. Their conditioning is going great--I am already able to do any of these activities fairly significantly. I have applied their name tags today so it is too early to give individual comments but the puppies now have their own pictures. I say this each time--please don't put too much stock in the pictures or even the videos to follow. I do my best to take equally good pictures but it doesn't always happen. That said, they still do give a fairly good idea of what each puppy looks like and you will notice that they are now incredibly cute!

The puppies are eating solid food now and are starting to get super cute! Conditioning has begun. It is my favorite time with puppies. They always adore us after we do this process. Here is what we do--and I highly recommend that each family goes through the same process for the first couple of days with their puppies so that they will bond with you. I have 6 "conditioning" activities that I progress through. I begin very lightly on the first day, mostly giving treats to the puppies. Then, as each day goes on, I am more aggressive with these activities so that the puppies are "conditioned" when they are done. Obviously, I don't do any of these to the point of hurting the puppy, but I do enough that they are used to these. 1) Pull their tale 2) Rub fur backwards 3) Twist their ears. Each of these is designed to help a puppy not overreact to a small child who may do these without understanding their negative affect. 4) Pinch between the toes 5) Rub the puppies teeth all around 6) Hold their muzzle shut for 5 seconds. Each of these is designed to make visits to vets and groomers easier. Again, I highly recommend that each family does these 6 activities very lightly and give the treat--sour cream or yogurt--after each one to bond with the puppy.
I have individual pictures of each puppy below, though without name tags, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about the puppy yet.. We will have names on the puppies on our next round of pictures. My son helped with the theme this time and he loves cats--so the puppies are named after cats!

2 Weeks 5 Days
Neurological stimulation ended yesterday and these puppies all got completely relaxed in all of the positions. This is super to see because it shows that they learned what to expect. All of them continue to grow consistently. I looks like 2 of them are going to have some slight coloration which is normally very attractive. All of them can walk now and they crawl around their little area a lot. They still spend most of their time sleeping and are super cute when they sleep on their backs!
1 Week 7 Days
The puppies are changing so much. They can crawl with their heads up and their eyes are open. They still spend most of their time eating and sleeping. Neurological stimulation is still going on and now it is harder to put them on the cold surface because they can crawl off. They are really sweet puppies, just like their mother!
1 Week 4 Days
Sorry for missing our 1 week 1 day posting. Normally my wife does that one and I do the next but she is newly going to college and is super busy, so I will be doing all of the posts. All of the puppies are doing great. They continue to grow well. Their neurological stimulation gives evidence of learning, already, as they are more comfortable with all of the positions. They can crawl and do so to their mother. It is so cute to see them belly crawly across their matts. They still spend most of their time sleeping. They are also starting to get just a bit cuter. Enjoy the pictures!
Day 4
All of the puppies are doing perfectly. They all eat well and are growing well. They continue to be very evenly sized, which makes this much easier. I had their first day of neurological stimulation yesterday and they seem to be quite calm for a first day. All of them melted back when they were put on their backs. There were a few puppy barks from being held which is typical. They are already transitioning from their pink skin to little bits of black.
Day 1
Kira had 10 puppies last night. She had a very easy and quick labor. I told her I wanted 10 puppies, not more and not less and she obliged--such a sweetheart. All of the puppies are good sized and are very good at eating which is the most essential day 1 activity.
