7 Weeks 2 Days
Today was such a beautiful day we had the pups spend some time outside in their playpen while we mowed and edged our lawn. This gave the pups a controlled environment while experiencing sounds that will become part of their daily lives. They all did really great! They are back in the living room now and are sleeping, sleeping, sleeping from having so much fun! This is our last post. I will be sending my "7 Week Letter" to make final arrangements for pick-up and delivery either later tonight or tomorrow. These puppies have been such a joy!
Loganberry
Loganberry loves being outside. He is playful and loved exploring today. He is a happy puppy with a super pretty face.

Apricot
Apricot still explores but she is becoming more attached to us and loves being with us. She is big and beautiful.

Peaches
Peaches loves attention and being held. She is responsive and likes to please. She is still our biggest puppy.

Strawberry
Strawberry lost weight from the dewormer (fairly common for them). She is the same size as Orcrist's puppy so we have put her with him so that he has a play mate and they are both loving it. Unsurprisingly, Orcrist adopted her willingly. It is so fun to see both of them play like they have always been together.

6 Weeks 3 Days
The puppies personalities really started to emerge this week. They are all much more playful and love being with us. All of them love being outside and like to bound over the grass. They are a beautiful group of puppies and they all have their new homes now! Today we let the puppies explore out in our front yard a little bit. They were able to experience grass and wind and hillside slope. At this age, puppies are just like babies and toddlers. They taste everything! Since they are susceptible to bacteria and parasites, they have to be watched very carefully. Other than trying to eat our too-tall grass, they were really good. They all loved it!
Loganberry
Adopted by Annie B.
Loganberry was very responsive. During the video, Judy would run away and call and he joyfully ran to her. He seems very intelligent.

Here are the results from the personality test. As is typical, the first five are almost identical. All of these puppies struggled to retrieve, which is not surprising at this age. All, also had no response to the pinch between their toes--which is a first for me. This is a function of their conditioning and is very interesting.

5 Weeks 4 Days
Just today these puppies have ramped up how frisky and playful they are. I have been trying to get a good video of it but they move too quickly for a good view. I will keep trying to get one!
We have introduced their toys that will go home with them. They will have limited playing time with them so that they are not destroyed in their exuberance, but the goal is for them to have a soft fluffy toy that has the litter scent on it when they go hone.

Boy Puppies
Loganberry
This little guy is still the most mild and snuggly of the bunch. He is satisfied just to sit in your lap and receive lots of loves.
Girl Puppies
Apricot
Apricot has been exploring with her nose all over the house. She is definitely learning all the smells and she doesn't like being forced to stay in one place. She's an explorer through and through!
Peaches
Peaches is just a sweet cuddly pup who loves giving and receiving loves and attention. She's such a doll!
Strawberry
Strawberry loved the stuffed animals. She sniffed and snuggled to her hearts content. She is still the smallest but it doesn't keep her from playing hard with her littermates.
5 Weeks 1 Day
As a group, this litter is very playful yet they mostly like to snuggle together. They are eating mostly food now and only see momma once in a while for her sake.
Boy Puppies
Loganberry
Loganberry is mild and easygoing. He loves snuggling. In the video you will see him ask me if I will just pick him up again. What a doll!
Girl Puppies
Apricot
Apricot is by far our most explorative puppy. She also gets into a lot of predicaments such as getting her paw stuck in a corner because she was too curious about what was in it!
Peaches
Peaches is chubby and mild. She loves playing with her siblings but isn't aggressive with her play.
Strawberry
Strawberry has a very unique feature that I shared in a photo below. She has to opposing 'cowlicks' that make a mohawk on her muzzle. It's really adorable but not easy to catch on video so hopefully you are able to see it in the photo.
4 Weeks 3 Day
Sorry for the long delay between my posts--we have been working with one of Orcrist's puppies around the clock and were very exhausted. We have named the puppies and they already have some fairly distinct features and personality traits. Strawberry has a Mohawk on her forehead and is very playful. Peaches is our biggest puppy and loves to snuggle, as does our male, Loganberry. Apricot is super photogenic and has some of the cutest pictures. All the puppies are doing well with the conditioning and I can already do almost anything to them while giving them the sour cream. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did in finally getting to post again.

3 Weeks 1 Day
The puppies are continuing to mature and are looking cuter and cuter. They still walk with their heads down but will start to get used to having their heads raised sometime this week. They are very snuggly and my granddaughters both spent hours holding them this week. They will begin their conditioning training today. That includes six things that we do to get them ready for their new homes. The first three are designed to help them adjust to homes with little children and the last three are to help them at the vet. We begin these very slowly and mildly and give a treat to the puppies after each event. That makes it so that they associate the activity with the treat and we are able to get them ready for more significant conditioning. Here is what we do. 1) pull their tales 2) pet their fur backwards 3) pull/twist their ears 4) hold their muzzle shut for 5 seconds 5) rub a finger inside along their teeth (top and bottom) 6) pinch between their toes.
2 Weeks 5 Days
We introduced solids to puppies this week. They are trying it out but they still prefer to nurse. They are in their super snuggly stage and so, so cute!
1 Week 6 Days
Tamerlein always has the chubbiest puppies! She is feeding them well and they are thriving. Their eyes are beginning to open and I tried to catch that in the photos for you. The male puppy is farthest on the left in the group photos.
1 Week 2 Days
Puppies and momma continue to do great. The puppies are all relaxed during neurological stimulation, which is what I love to see because it means they are learning and getting used to the handling. These seem to be very white, though I won't really know how white until their first bath. All of the puppies are growing and eating well and are super cute. Tamerlein is a fantastic mom and she always has her puppies lined up.
Day 5
Tamerlein and the puppies are all doing very well. They are growing well and getting chubby, spending nearly all of their time sleeping or eating. We have begun Early Neurological Stimulation and the puppies are responding just as we would expect. Male is on the far right in litter pictures.
Day 2
Tamerlein and her puppies are doing great. Tamerlein is very smart and always has her puppies in a nice row, so I have been able to get some sleep--even though she has already had one night. The puppies are all very nice sized and are eating well. Tamerlein is super content and loves being a mother.
